Youth Dance Celebration

Par pasākumu

The Youth Dance Celebration brings thousands of young folk dancers from all over Estonia to Tallinn to tell stories about Estonia and its people through dance, music, and colorful folk costumes. The tradition of song and dance festivals is part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and the Youth Celebration helps keep this heritage alive. While the general Dance Celebration features performances by children, youth, and adults side by side, the Youth Dance Celebration focuses specifically on young dancers. Dancers range from elementary school dancers to those around 20 years old. At the Dance Celebration, the collective steps of thousands of dancers create magnificent patterns and shapes on Kalev Stadium's turf. The Youth Dance Celebration unites dancers of different ages, fosters a sense of community, and gives the Estonian dance tradition a future. Good to know! The general Dance Celebration and the Youth Dance Celebration are usually held separately, but in 2028, they will be celebrated together.
